I'm delighted that one of my poems, 'Craic', has been commended by Jo Bell in the Buzzwords Poetry Competition. To celebrate, in my final poetry podcast of the year (I'm doing a podcast each month, if I can), I read it along with a few other poems that have done well in competitions over the years. It's interesting to see how many of them involve fictional husbands or other kinds of love interest. Perhaps I should be writing less nature poetry and more love poems! One of the poems I read is 'Oaks', which was one of the winners of a love poetry competition run by Leaf books (appropriately enough!).
