Alphabet
by Mandy Haggith - 16:47 on 11 August 2017
I'm delighted to have a long poem, called 'Alphabet', published in this year's gathering of New Writing Scotland (called She Said, He Said, I Said). There will be two launch parties for the book, but I can't be at either of them, so instead I've put a reading of the poem (complete with stumble, just for added 'live' reality feeling) up on my podcast site, here. It's inspired by Inger Christiansen's book of the same name, and it has twenty-six stanzas, one for each letter of the alphabet, getting steadily longer up to the letter N and then shorter again down to Z.
I hope you enjoy it and if so, please let me know what else you'd like me to read on the podcast.
