I am currently the proud recipient of a bursary from Creative Scotland, to enable me to devote serious time, energy and creative focus to my current writing project. This is a historical novel, the working title for which is The Stone Stories. It is long, and in three parts - it will quite possibly be a trilogy of books when it finally hits the presses. Set in the Iron Age, it concerns a historical figure, Pytheas of Massalia, who undertook an amazing journey around Britain from about 320BC.

That's all I'm saying for now, except for a huge Thank You to Creative Scotland's literature staff, who understood that to do the imaginative work to create this story I needed some time off work.
